This is the first Chinese spacecraft to land on the unseen part of the moon

A Chinese robotic spacecraft has landed on the unseen side of the moon. This is the first time such an incident has happened. Chinese authorities have made this claim.
China's state media reported that at 2:26 a.m. GMT, the unmanned spacecraft Change-4 landed in the Atken Basin of the moon's south pole.

The spacecraft is carrying instruments that will identify the geological conditions of that region of the Moon. It will also conduct biological tests.

Incidentally, previous missions have been carried out on the Earth-facing side of the Moon. This is the first time a spacecraft has landed on an unexplored part of the Moon. Source: BBC
